Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 March 2026

1. Overview

This platform is currently in active development and operated as a test environment. This privacy policy describes how WhatsInPortfolio collects, uses, and handles information you provide when using the platform. It will be updated as the platform matures.

2. Data We Collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and name via our authentication provider (Clerk). When you upload portfolio statements, we process the contents to extract structured financial data including holdings, transactions, prices, and asset details. We also collect usage data to understand how the platform is being used and to improve the experience.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to power your experience on this platform — to display your portfolio, calculate P&L, project income, and personalise features such as spending insights and card recommendations based on your categories. Your data is not sold or shared with third parties for any purpose.

4. Data Storage

Structured portfolio data is stored in our hosted database infrastructure. Raw statement files are not retained after processing. We are actively working toward stronger data minimisation and pseudonymisation practices as the platform matures, and will update this policy to reflect those changes.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database), and Vercel (hosting). Each operates under their own privacy and security standards. We do not use advertising networks or data broker services.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the details below. As the platform matures we will provide self-serve data export and deletion functionality directly within the product.

7. Test Environment Warning

This is a test platform. Please do not upload real sensitive financial data, identity documents, or account credentials at this stage. We cannot guarantee production-grade data protection during this period of active development.

8. Contact

For any privacy-related questions, please use the feedback option within the platform. A dedicated contact address will be published here as the platform moves toward public launch.
